CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa, September 18th -- At
10:00am on September 18th, 2009,
enlighten technologies, inc.™, a Midwest based
videoconferencing and networking company, conducted
a test videoconferencing call between Wal-Mart
headquarters in Arkansas and a trucking firm out of
North Liberty, Iowa. The objective of the
videoconferencing call was to establish that
enlighten™’s videoconferencing equipment and
software could connect to, and be compatible with,
Wal-Mart’s own system. Wal-Mart placed the video
call to enlighten™, located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa,
and both systems synced up successfully, providing
valuable information on how to establish such
communications with Wal-Mart in the future.
It was an education for the trucking firm, who
provides shipping services to Wal-Mart and was in
need of a secure system in which to communicate.
enlighten™’s videoconferencing
equipment and software was instrumental in the demo
and recognized as such by Wal-Mart. For all parties
concerned, it was a success.
Although enlighten™ provides videoconferencing
services through its' secure data network, the test
call was successful in demonstrating that enlighten™
is capable of providing video calls on public IP
networks, as well.
The videoconferencing
system that was deployed when conducting the video
call to Wal-Mart was the enlighten™ Standard Video
Unit, also known as the All-In-One™, available exclusively
through enlighten technologies incorporated™.
